“We dey for digital economy era, as you know dat now you fit transfer money give someone without writing any cheque.
“You fit also load your mobile phone without having a scratch card. So we dey live for digital economy now.
“Therefore, di national identification number, wey b 11 digits wey dem generate and give you, dey more important dan any oda token wey you dey talk about.’’
E also tok say“there is nothing wey b like `temporary or permanent’ for di language of NIMC as di NIN slip get di unique identification number.
“What we dey issue you for di beginning of a transaction na slip; dat is, before we go generate your NIN wey go issue you one NIN slip wey you fit see your national identification number wey dem write for dia.
“Although by law we go provide one general multi-purpose card, wey b di card wey get applet wey you fit you fit use for driving, payment and identification among odas.
“And di card wey we get b 80 kilobytes card while your ordinary ATM card na just four kilobytes.
So, dat com mean dat di card dey 20 times bigger dan an ordinary ATM card.
“So if you dey buy ATM card for N1,000, so how much we go spend to get dat card; We go spend close to N3,000 to produce dat card (e-ID card).
According to him, di commission get di approval of the Federal Govment make dem ensure di sustainability of di system.
E also tok dat na di first issuance for di NIN slip and di e-ID card wey b free.
