Dis dey come afta one motion presented by Zainab Gimba (APC, Borno) wey called on JAMB make Dem review di policy on di use of NIN for prospective applicants until 2021.
Leading di debate, Gimba don tok say e dey necessary make JAMB to review di timeline wey dey pend for di establishment of more enrolment centres by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) across di country.
According to her, one official for NIMC don recently disclosed dat, less than 20 percent of Nigerians don dey captured for dia database. She com further expressed concern dat, although Nigerians don turn out to b captured by NIMC, “most don dey hindered by infrastructural challenges wey b like poor network, power failure, no power supply and sometimes inadequate manpower or equipment wey Dem go use attend to them”. She don suggest dat, make JAMB collaborate more with NIMC, states and local governments for an efficient registration of im prospective candidates.
